Antonio Culum has been serving the Lord for many years. He received his degree in Biblical Studies and Theology from Seminario Biblico Guatemalteco. He has served for over 15 years as a pastor, Bible teacher, and a trainer of missionaries. He has also served as a missionary to Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela and the United States. Currently, he serves as pastor in Quetzali, San Marcos, Guatemala at Nueva Canaan Church. He loves working with the indigenous children. “For us it is an honor to be part of this ministry and to see the children accepting Jesus as their Savior in each event." Antonio is married to Cristi and they have one daughter named Sara.
Cristi Culum is from Malacatán, Guatemala and has an elementary education degree. A few years ago, she and Antonio met at a Bible conference center and discovered that they both wanted to serve God with all their heart. Several years ago she asked God to mold her and use her to work with children, especially those who have not received Christ as their Savior. She is a great asset to the ministry. Cristi leads in music, activities, curriculum choices, and many other aspects of the ministry. She and Pastor Antonio have a daughter named Sara. They make their home in Quetzali.
Garvin serves as Senior Vice President of Logistics. After a career in accounting and financial management with an emphasis in churches and ministries, God has redirected Garvin to Culum Family Ministries rather than retiring. He and his wife, Sally served as missionaries in Guatemala for three years and now serve as stateside representatives for CFM. He and his wife make their home in Peachtree Corners, Georgia and active members at Cross Pointe Church.
Please join us in welcoming Jennifer Velásquez as our new Vice President of Logistics. After serving 13 years at Christian Academy of Guatemala as a middle and elementary educator she has returned to the States. She has a masters degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She and her husband, Alan, now reside in Priceville, AL. They have three young children; Jennie homeschools the older two. They are members of Shiloh Church in Somerville, AL. She serves on the administrative team for Crossroad Christian Academy, a homeschool co-op that is an outreach of Shiloh Church.
Lucas Eckerley is a graduate of Boyce College with a degree in Global Missions. Lucas has experience with Child Evangelism Fellowship (Good News Clubs) and as an English teacher in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Lucas has previously served as a missions intern in Malawi, Africa and now resides with his wife, Alyssa, in Fishers, Indiana. Lucas is on staff with International Justice Mission while attending Indianapolis Theological Seminary part-time.
After a career with a telecommunications company Terry transferred his experience to working for his local school district assisting teachers/students with their classroom technology needs. He is active in One Heart Church children’s ministry and Praise Team. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, Linda, live in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
Dorothy is a pastor’s wife of Dr. Brian Sherwood. She is currently homeschooling her two children who are in 5th and 6th grade. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University and her Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While attending seminary Dorothy served as Children’s Director at a church plant in Arlington, Texas and taught preschool at the Naylor Children’s Center. Dorothy is active in her church WMU (women's mission organization) and has served as WMU director of the Welsch Neck Baptist Association. She is currently WMU director and on the Women’s Ministry team of First Baptist Church in Darlington, South Carolina. She is also serving on the board of their local Homeschool Support Group. In her free time she enjoys scrapbooking, history and sings in the church choir.
A creative mind, Kim has worked as a cake decorator, interior and floral designer, and decorative painter. Kim has previously served as the director of the Women’s Missionary Union and has experience was an event planner for their previous church. Kim now lives in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas with her husband, Ray, where they work to begin a prayer ministry and a church plant.
Kim is certainly a voice of praise to the Lord for his faithfulness in her life and ministry!
With a bachelor's degree in theology, Osvin is currently attending the Central American Theological Seminary in Guatemala City and is a youth pastor at a nearby church there. Having had experienced God's presence in the midst of hardship in his own life, Osvin is passionate about communicating that we can rejoice in our suffering by understanding that the Lord is with us.
Having heard the gospel message at a young age, Nehemías turned to Jesus as his savior at the age of 9. Since then, he has had a deep love for the church and currently serves his church as a deacon and serves the church's youth program. With a heart for Missions, Nehemías has had 8 years of experience serving on the missions committee of his church and has travelled to Mexico as a missionary every year.
Galindo attended the Berea Biblical Institute in Guatemala and graduated in 1988. Since then, Galindo has been one of the pastors within the Central American Mission of Guatemala. There he continues to serve the church with his wife, Blanca, and their five children at Jesus Eternal Life Church in the village of Las Brisas Malacatan in San Marcos, Guatemala.
